The King of Carrot Flowers by zacharyxbinks The King of Carrot Flowers by zacharyxbinks
A piece based on the lyrics of the song "The King of Carrot Flowers Pt. I" by Neutral Milk Hotel.

For the 30 Day Sketch Challenge I'm doing, #16 is to make a sketch based on your favorite song. Now, I dunno if this is my favorite song of all time or anything, but it's definitely in my top ten.

Anyway, I took the song a little literally and wanted to depict the actual King of Carrot Flowers. To me, this song is all about love-making and discovering that love with somebody and that's what I tried to represent here.

Work in progress. I really want to color this, but I've got a lot to figure out in term of what scheme I'll use. Hope ya dig it.

Ha! How sweet! I love that song, but hardly anyone I know has ever heard it. Very touching piece.

The DETAILS. It's perfect, I love it. Also, you captured the emotion in their faces so well.

Thanks! I tried really hard to sell the emotional aspect of the whole thing, so I'm glad you took notice.
